NHG Therapy with added Biotin

NHG - Natural Hair Growth Therapy

Natural Hair Growth Therapy (NHG) is a proactive therapeutic option for male and female patients experiencing hair loss. It is an exciting non-surgical therapeutic option for patients who require stimulation of hair growth for hair loss conditions. Although Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is a relatively new approach, there is some scientific evidence to suggest that it can help promote hair growth. When it comes to hair loss, the theory is that the Platelet Rich Plasma Serum which is injected deep into the scalp to reach the bottom of the hair follicle, may stimulate a specialized population of cells named dermal papilla cells, which play a critical role in hair growth.

What Does Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy Consist Of?

Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy consists of a myriad of growth factors.  Specifically, the prominent growth factors include  transforming growth factor (TGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VGEF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), insulin-like growth factor (IGF), and fibroblast growth factor (FGB), among others. We also add 2ml of Biotin in the Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Serum.

The Process

Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy is a three-step process.

  • Step 1

A medical professional draws your blood from a vein typically from the arm. Then the blood that is drawn is placed into a centrifuge (a machine that spins rapidly to separate fluids of different densities).

  • Step 2

After about 10 minutes in the centrifuge, your blood will have separated into three layers or components of Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Serum. After centrifuging, the serum rises to the top, and the lower part of the serum is the PRP Serum. Sometimes, a second spin is performed to increase the concentration of the Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Serum.
  • Step 3

The Platelet Rich Plasma Serum is drawn up into a syringe and then injected into targeted areas of the scalp that needs increased hair growth.

There has not been enough research to prove whether Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy is effective. It’s also unclear for whom — and under what circumstances — it’s most effective. The entire process may take about 1 hour, and several sessions may be necessary. After receiving Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP treatment, a person can usually return to their regular activities without any limitations.

  • How long does it last?

Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy is not a cure for conditions that cause hair loss. For this reason, a person would need to receive multiple PRP Therapy treatments over time to maintain hair growth results. Most Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy requires three treatments 4–6 weeks apart and maintenance treatments are required every 4–6 months.

Usually, the recommendations for how often a person should have this treatment will vary depending on a person’s condition and the results of their initial treatment. The doctor may suggest having maintenance injections every 3 to 6 months once hair loss is under control.

  • Side Effects

As Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy solution consists of a person’s own blood components, there are few risks of a reaction to the solution itself.
Possible side effects include a headache, mild pain at the injection site, and scalp tenderness.
However, people undergoing Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP treatments for hair loss may experience the following side effects:
    • mild pain at the injection site
    • scalp tenderness
    • swelling
    • a headache
    • itching
    • temporary bleeding at the injection site

Which Hair Loss Patients Can Benefit from PRP Treatments?

Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy is suitable for both men and women.

If you are suffering from hair loss, hair thinning, or premature balding, then you are a good candidate for Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy. As some types of hair loss result from a decrease in the amount and density of hair follicles, PRP Therapy is a wonderful hair loss treatment which can aid with hair regrowth. Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy can help to reverse the process which occurs in androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness or female pattern hair loss). Patients who have experienced hair loss, thinning hair, or suffer from alopecia areata (an autoimmune type of hair loss) may be good candidates who can benefit from Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy.
